Rocky Mount, Va. (January 26, 2021) – The Franklin County Family YMCA is committed to providing meaningful programs and services to help maintain and improve health and well-being. As a part of these efforts, the Y has partnered with UnitedHealthcare to provide a wellness experiences to the community that goes beyond the basics to help people live healthier every day.

Renew Active, UnitedHealthcare’s gold standard Medicare fitness program for mind and body, is now being offered by the Franklin County Family YMCA. This program is available to people enrolled in most Medicare Advantage plans, Renew Active offers access to both the Rocky Mount and Smith Mountain lake YMCA locations at no additional cost.  

“We’re so excited to offer a new membership option to our community. Renew Active provides eligible community members with access to either of our YMCA locations at no cost! Plan holders of Medicare Advantage Plans and Supplement Plans insured by United Healthcare Insurance can use the Renew Active program. Eligible members can use all the services that are part of a standard Y membership,” says Jessica Thomason, Branch Director.

Staying active is not only good for your body, it’s also good for your mind. The Y provides programs designed for both, with the goal of helping every community member reach their fitness goals.
