Important Update to Nationwide Reciprocity Policy
Effective August 1, 2025

The Smith Mountain Lake YMCA of Franklin County will no longer participate in the YMCA Nationwide Reciprocity program.
This change will not affect current SML YMCA members.

Why is this happening?
The SML YMCA has been designated as a “destination location”, which changes our eligibility in the reciprocity program.

How can you continue to enjoy the Y?
🔹 10‑Visit Punch Card – $99
• Never expires
• May be shared within a household

🔹 Day Pass – $12 per visit
• Ideal for occasional users

🔹 Become a Member
• Enjoy 24/7 access options
• Register for classes
• Take advantage of member-only program pricing

🔹 Visit Rocky Mount YMCA (approx. 25 minutes away)
• Rocky Mount YMCA continues to honor Nationwide Reciprocity

Nationwide Reciprocity

Nationwide Membership enables you to visit any participating Y in the United States through membership at your “home” YMCA (your home location is the facility that enrolled you as a member and that collects your membership dues).

We offer this because we want to help you reach your health and wellness goals wherever you live, work or travel. This is an essential part of our cause of strengthening communities.
