How in the world can the Y story be told in these few paragraphs?
Do we discuss some of the thousands of teens and children who find in the Y a safe and positive place to gather, to play, to learn, to grow? Do we talk about the many older adults who come here to find friendship and to engage in healthy activities that help keep them strong and vital? Do we note the families throughout the county, from mountain to lake and from corner to corner, who have found the Y to be an extension of their lives, where they can share in wonderful times together? There’s so much happening, so much good for so many people, that it’s hard to know where to begin.
So let us begin with our YMCA friends and members and supporters. Over the years, persons and families with financial need have been able to participate at the Y because people have been generous with their gifts. Since the Franklin County Family YMCA was born in 1995, we have been blessed with people whose big hearts have made a real difference in the lives of others. Through their support of our mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all people, we have touched thousands and thousands of lives, young and old.
Each year we conduct an annual campaign. Every dollar from those campaigns goes directly to underwrite programs and provide financial aid, so that every deserving person can be part of our Y regardless of income level. We believe that every member of our community needs a place like the Y, where they can belong and grow. Won’t you consider making a tax-deductible contribution to help us keep the YMCA open to everyone?
